At that price I would assume the owner had someone there to pay that amount so that the boat did not sell that cheap. Just my thought from being at auctions that have items on no reserve and don't bring enough money.

Boat is still in Scottsdale parked at a custom car shop and hooked to one of their Sport Chassis trucks, saw it this afternoon. No idea if their storing or the owner of the place bought it. Did not see the hospitality trailer that I "believe" went with the boat.
As far as the shape, I saw it at the show. The side you could see as a spectator had a few marks, but is far from beat up. I believe it could have been cleaned a little better, thus gave the appearance it might not be in perfect shape. I am guessing it was perhaps towed out from OK, so of course its going to not be perfectly clean. Are there not 3 large black all MTI's that look very similar? 1st is a rudder boat 2nd is a M8 boat 3rd is the one being referenced here. |
Yes a total of 3 large MTI's and the new 34 in black.

My buddy sat in the Pressure Makes Diamonds boat on Saturday before it went across the block with permission from the seller. Apparently they exchanged information because the seller contacted my friend this week saying the buyer wants to back out of the sale because he was "so drunk he didn't realize what he was bidding on", and asked if my friend would be interested in buying it!! The drama continues...
|
Put it in the classifieds at that price and it will be sold within one week

LOL oops...I've bought a lot of things I shouldn't have when I was drinking, but a half million dollar boat has never (and wont be!) one of them!

What a deal!

All I know is it was stored indoors on the trailer at legendary marina the last time I saw it. Indoors out of the weather. And given the location of where that marina is, how on Earth could it have possibly been in a hurricane.

Wish I was there to pick that up. Wouldn't be surprised to see it flipped and put up for sale a few months later at a more realistic price. Could afford to sit on it for awhile to get the right price and still come out ahead pretty good.

If it’s such a steal at $550000 what Should it have brought. A broker gets 10%. plus engine refresh and not many want a all black boat. I don’t think it’s far off especially if he wanted it gone and not wait and deal with tire kickers. Jmo

IMHO- if I'm going to blow $500K to $600K on a boat, I don't think I'd want one that has TWO twin sisters. If it came with 2 new 1350s, that's a nice bonus, but I'd change its looks for sure

There are very few "steals" at Barrett-Jackson. In fact, they frequently set high price records on many of the collector cars they market. The boat while impressive, is very polarizing. As others have stated, an all black enclosed cockpit 52' boat with an oversized wide beam can be less appealing than you may think. I saw that boat on the trailer behind a gorgeous sleeper cab tractor at Phil's a couple of years ago waiting in the street for an opportunity to back it down that narrow twisty entrance. It was incredibly flashy, but at 75' or so long and at least 12' wide, it is a logistics nightmare! Many high end toys sell for less than 50% of the original purchase price after a few years in service. The folks that commission these types of projects have the means to purchase new, and want personal input on all phases of the outcome. Add in the cosmetic refresh, and maintenance and the price paid could easily jump to $600k+. IMHO market value was established at B-J, and it was accurate.

Here are the 52' "Black Diamond" and "Pressure" together a couple of years ago at the Miami Boat Show Poker run. These two are sisters, the other black canopy boat was a 48' ZR1 Corvette theme boat that was replaced by Black Diamond.

Nope, those boats are not for everyone! Is that salt all over the back of the boats?

I'd say it is salt... after seeing the boat in key west a few years ago (same salt haze) id NEVER own an all black boat. But once its clean....:eekdrop:

PBC posted pic on Insta pulling it back to their place. According to post,(made a deal to bring to new owner and re-list) PBC will be listing it for sale in a few weeks after cleaned and serviced.
