Skat,
I asked the same thing of the Merc dealer I bought a new Bravo from last spring. He says to me "it comes with a 1 year warrantee" so I answer "what do I do with the other 5 months'"(he knew exactly what I was talking about) and answers "I guess it's for the people in Florida":mad
Of course this all took place AFTER it was paid for in full:( I guess that the way it be:rolleyes
Actually 100 hours would be rather nice:cool: I mean the damned thing better run 100 for what they cost:eek:

I'm thinking we should all get together and buy an oil refinery......can you imagine all thise hours times an average of 20 gph guessing low......and the tow vehicles.....man we burn some fuel!!!

bajadude 10-21-2002 05:01 PM

buy an oil refinery
Yep, my puny 55 hours used up over 900 gallons:eek:

At least NH gives us an $.18 road tax rebate if we keep receipts and file each year.

Put 108 hours on last year at Center HIll Lake in TN. This year we only put about 30 hours on in CA. Shows you what the rat race of CA can do to you. I did add a Whipple system to my HP500EFI tho.. thats the good new. I am amazed at some of the hours you guys log. Hopefully next year well be in TN permanately

dont have a gauge, if i had to guess, driving around for an hour at least most days of the week, probably over 150hrs.

boat has over 1300 same engine, 1990, not rebult (hopefully some new parts will find their way into her over the winter...)

mopower 10-22-2002 09:09 PM

Skat,

I have thought about it too. With my one year warranty I got 70 Hrs figure average speed might have been 20 MPH (this is probably way high). 7 of those hours were because the key was left on untill the battery died (dealers fault). So that gives me 63 actual Hrs the first year times 20 = 1260 miles. Would you by a new car with a 1260 mile powertrain warranty?

WickedWon 10-25-2002 08:01 AM

Put 25hrs on the Saber , the Sterlings used 2100 gal.

Put 70hrs on the center console, the 250 Yamaha used 600 gal.

Amazingly they both went about the same distance, right around 2000 miles, luv em both. JD

LEOPAJM 10-25-2002 08:49 AM

Saber....... 40 hrs.

Sea Ray......55 hrs.

Laguna CC....20 hrs.

Scarab CC..... 15 hrs.

I'll have to ask WW how much fuel I used ?????

JM:eek:

wms 10-25-2002 12:09 PM

Just sent in my receipts for a fuel tax refund. 1550 gallons and 123 hours equals 12.6 average gallons per hours. Not too shabby for twin 496HO's!

Have to believe that I lost some receipts along the way.....

tmager 10-28-2002 12:01 PM

105 hours this year for first year on boat. What is a tax refund? I live in Michigan where everything but my underwear is taxed without a refund!

wms 10-28-2002 02:15 PM

Virginia levies a 17.5 cent highway tax on each gallon of gas purchased. They offer a refund of that tax to boaters. Do the math....it makes sense to save the receipts!! I will be putting my refund towards a new GPS.

tmager 10-28-2002 07:13 PM

Michigan levies a 37 cent tax for the worst roads in the country and returns jack to us boat owners. I probably spent $1200 in gas this summer, boy getting 1/4th back would have been really nice.
