Default Fast Times At Sterling Performance Engines

Running flat out to keep up with demand for its services, the vaunted high-performance marine powerhouse is as busy as it’s ever been, https://www.offshoreonly.com/article...rmance-engines.

From the OSO home page.

The most interesting thing to me is the 7 month backlog. I am dealing with a hefty backlog of engines in my shop now too....its good to have a backlog, but that far out means you are busy but never make more money. You need to up the production once you get out past 8-10 weeks. I just found it interesting because I'm fighting this battle right now, although in automotive racing not marine.

Glad to see this business thriving and I thought it was a good read.

There's no qualified help, no new people getting into the industry, and nobody that wants to work hard. All things that are required of hi-tech mechanical. Cookie cutter is different, then all we're lacking is anybody that wants to work hard and get dirty.

I see this across many industries, and whomever I call to network with on available talent, has the same problem.

It's really a shame, a huge challenge, and there's no quick fix.

A U T O M A T I O N .....- unfortunately neither Sterling, nor can we, apply these technologies to custom applications.
