Default freight carriers - Canada to US -

I may need to ship an outboard powerhead (250lbs) from Ontario Canada to Portland Oregon. Can anybody recommend a carrier / options for doing this.?
It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

If it's packed on a small skid call Polaris Transportation or CSA Transportation. Let them know ahead of time if it's a residential pickup or delivery. If it's non-commercial and/or you don't have a customs broker you may be better off sticking with the ground couriers that also offer clearance services.

Thanks for the reply! It is non commercial and will need customs brokerage... So are you referring to say Purolator or fedex? I would pack it on a small skid.
Thanks again.

I would stay away from XPO Logistics, no accountability over there.

- Lost a product of mine
- Did nothing to correct the issue
- Terrible customer service

Currently dealing with BBB and them.

Yes Purolator, UPS or FedEx ground, if their system will accept something that large. Otherwise if it's out of southern Ontario it gets driven/cleared at the border by the seller and then dropped at a freight terminal in the US as domestic freight. Of course better packaging (crating) would be required with a courier.
