Frick, on that poker run, I’m now remembering they had a chase helicopter and we know they ain’t cheap!
I would say 20+ boats still leaving the river when we got there. Two canopied boats. A 40-ish MTI (I think) cat and a vee! Both w/1350’s. A couple of the crews in matching uniforms. BTW, we were at PIB for the British car races last yr and having lunch at the Boardwalk when a similar MTI cat w/1150’s and two quad OB center consoles pulled in together. My Bro-in-law was w/us and loves boating w/us. Grabbed him and headed to the boats telling him, you’re going to want to see this! The cat had open engine hatches for us to drool! Bro of course ask’s, “how much?”. Answered that it depends on options and started pointing them out. Like the matching graphics, in the gel, on the bottom of the engine hatches! Bro stood there w/his jaw hanging open. Owner was very nice and picked up right away who/what we were. Coolest part was, the three boats were from Detroit and came down for lunch! Bro (of course) asks, “how fast?”. Owner laughs and says, we saw 135 on the way down! Bro talked about it for wks! Love it when it works that way! |
Ran the boat today after the the conversion to the 20” motors from the 25’s.
As I hoped, there was no adverse effect. Also converted rotation back to turning out. Over the winter, besides the motor size change, I went through both gear cases, rebuilt the port VRO pump, painted both motors, found and installed a main fuse block that I like led in the wiring harness ….,etc. Sucks it was just the local pond so we still don’t yet know how it runs. Took another set of wheels to try but didn’t get there. Have a wall full when/if so. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...b2cc03d0b.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...f876d9fa5.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...8c3906f65f.png |
Then when you think it’s about the boat, your 2 yr old grandson pays a visit!

Thank you for all.
Boating is best with the family. |

I was born into boating after my dad (the engineer) decided this was the best activity for his family w/5 kids that he could afford, as a young engineer that we would all enjoy.

Just curious, what is the small oval vent in the stripe, just above the registration numbers. My 89 251 does not have that.

I had one just like it on a Sea Ray Pachanga many years ago. RR |
