I’m no boat designer by any sense of the word but that gap between the cockpit and that hatch looked to be trouble from the start . And that boat didn’t sound right in the video when it went buy. Still great to see the attempt though . They’ll be back .

Why not build a rudder boat with BPM’s, and put in two 4000hp T55 that only weigh 500lbs?? Dry exhaust with electric fans for cooling the oil. No more water in the boat which means no more water psi issues, no more blown hoses, etc...
Also the turbines will allow you to make run after run without rebuilds like piston power.
With 8000hp I’m sure she would run pretty well.

Definitely entertaining, Definitely a commendable "Helluva" attempt at a kilo record program in the space of a few months starting from an empty mold... but part of me has to believe Mike and Joe are smiling down that the OL brand retains the record... at least for now.
Reggie and crew will be back after tweeking the covered wagon engine hatch and probably run 181+ ( Reggie is like a terrier on being #1)

Because they “run what they brung” and didn’t get it done. Ok just a little bit of ball busting. I’m sure they’ll get it dialed in and be back at it before too long. One does have to wonder if they’ll keep the testing/attempts a little more under wraps next time.
