Default Boat buyers are liars! LOL

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Buyer # 4 for my 38 Cig Flat Deck:
Loves the boat, came back 4 times to see it.
We talk about the price (he was at 52k, I was at 56K).
He says " unwinterize it & lets go for a ride. If everything goes fine, we can wrap up the deal".
Go for a ride & everything runs 110%.
Then he says he needs a survey. Fine! His Cousin does the insurance survey & it passes 100%.
Great, lets wrap up the deal!!!!
"Just let me find Insurance"...... Found great deal on Ins.
Buyer just sent me a fax saying he will be down today with $40,000 & will take the boat away if I agree.
WHAT THE F***???????????????????????????????????
I'm taking it down to FL for the winter.
If anyone is interested in the boat/trailer & all associated equipment, $52k takes it away! I'll list it in the oso classifieds

Ill give you $39,000.
Just kidding but a feel your frustration.

I took a deposit on a motorcycle last summer. The buyer gave me his cell phone number and stated he would be back in 3 days to take the bike. Never showed. Ive called him at least 30 times. I turned away others who called about the bike thinking it was sold. I did pocket $300 on the deposit but would rather have the bike out out of the garage and the full $3500 I was asking.

That sucks, man. You'll sell it, just need to find the right (intelligent) person.

I feel for you too. BTDT. Now I won't give any rides without a non-refundable deposit.

Should have said fine.

Then asked him out of curiosity (sp) what he will putting in for power once he takes delivery??

Since you will be pulling OUT the current drive system!

At least that is what I told someone that offered me 50 grand for my boat 2 years ago

They answer, "What you want that much money and it does not have engines?"

I answer, " No for that much of a price difference of my asking price, You will be lucky to even get the gimbal housings let alone the drives and motors!"

Some people need to get real on what boat prices are about!

I would have told him to "come down and wrap the deal up" just like he told you, then when he waisted his time getting a check made out to you and coming over I would have told him "I changed my mind, but I'll still take the 52k you offered before"
