That's actually not true. The Brits have managed to put together a three race series of offshore racing.

the US has some nice big boat circuit racing though.

Our sport has changed over the past 30 years, closer to shore, no doubt. But it's what we have and I will not tolerate any bashing of it. If you don't have anything nice to say, kindly stfu.

i didn't say it was bad. It isn't. It's fun.
Ask Bob Sheer. Getting knocked around in a boat
doesn't mean it's offshore. It can definitely be part of it though. That's some nice video.

OK. We will now call it powerboat racing on water off the shore.

"Just Offshore Racing Championship" would be the most accurate. Notice "World" is missing from the title.
You don't need food rations or a life raft on the St Clair river.
you can only get about 300ft offshore. See what I'm saying? Incidentally the Hydrostream would be a good bet there.

That said, I'm sure Apache Powerboats would LOVE racing to go way offshore - bring back their heyday!

I reread Matt's article again - in the last 10 years+, the most constant organization in racing for being on an even keel, making progress and bringing more people to the sport is SOTW
