MDC DriveSync
Just installed a MDC DriveSync on my 28 Skater w/ 300xs's. It automatically and electronically evens out the drives when operating the "both" switch. I installed a "blinker" style switch on my helm to operate both motors. The DriveSync corrects the slower trim pump to match the faster one (runs it a bit longer), hence offering exact equal trim on both motors. Installation is pretty straight forward. I hope Mike Clesceri , the owner includes the exact wiring diagram for the 300xs's in the packaging for the 300X and SX applications, though he was more that helpful in setting it up with me. Now, one thing less to concentrate on when running!

I bought the DriveSync last summer - met with him at the Shootout. Nice guy and appears to be a great product. I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Any tricks to installing/calibrating that we should know about?

DriveSync
All In, I also bought mine last summer and met Mike at LOTO shootout. You might want to check with Mike regarding a software update. He did one on mine which enhanced the amount of data points the unit uses, or at least that is how I understood it. Install is pretty straight forward. I made two mistakes, one was hooking up the trim wires to the switch backwards and not holding the "both trim" switch long enough for the unit to register the calibration. Mike was very helpful and went above to walk me thru any issues.

I have 2 seasons on mine and really like the way it works. Great upgrade and with a dual switch in the throttle it is that much better!

How exactly does this unit work? Does it slow the faster drive down to match the slower one? Does it keep the slower one moving until it stops at the point where it is even with the faster one?
|
It will run the slower drive until it lines up with the faster drive. It really is just a quick burst on the slower drive unless going way across the scale. Its all about the set-up when your 1st programming the DriveSync. You can get the drives near identical heights in the memory with a little trial and error. Once the base lines are established its care free and you forget about it.

What type of sending units are used? My drive indicators are mechanical so I guess I'd need some sort of conversion.
