Way cool replies.
Im sorry that the like feature only seems to be working for be about 10% of the time but great reading.
Some observations:
We have a few lucky people here that are content where theyre at. That is as good as it gets.
Been there before. Not now, but have been
Way less wanting big (40' +) than I expected.
Would have lost a bet on that one.
Way more wanting O/B's than I expetced. Bout time.
Been working on you guys for 20 yrs.
Center consoles are continuing to gain popularity and market share accordingly.
Recently talked to one performance builder thats trying to cross over. Way less drama than us go fast guys.
Read the story on Sunsation.
A reminder to those still fretting over maintenance and expenses, there is none in this fantasy world.
Someone else is buying.
It appears that some of us (me included) are stuck in the size/style we already know.
I could sit in a lawn chair staring at an 42' OL through a 6 pack w/o moving but cant wrap my head around owning one.
Even w/an imaginary sugar daddy.
*Edit to my list*
Add a twin O/B 29' Progression to my list.
Almost listed it orig then saw it on someone elses list.
Another week of this nonsense and its boating season here in the midwest!

twin ob sonic, don't you have a build thread going, thought i seen it.
love that donzi doral, passed one up 2 months ago, big project, unibody construction and how to get it apart
so it would go back together was the reason, priced right and not going anywhere any time soon.

No thread yet.
*EDIT*
I did a thread titled, "got the itch again" w/pixs of the new boat and project outline on the general boating page.
Been hesitant to do much here w/it being O/B and as small as it is.
Aldo, lost my shop when we moved 3 months ago.
They start new one tomorrow.
I loved the 24' Sonic O/Bs for what they were, which was a huge, fast Cuddy Cabin.
Hated how they were built though.
Dont like inner liners and they fkd up the O/B conversions at the Sonic factory by glassing the bottom of the rear seat bases to transom for support which the transom needed since it had no knees.
Idea was good but they glassed to foam core and not structure.
Both mine and every one I've seen had pulled loose and transom was bowed.
Easy tell tale signs for shoppers is to look at side decks where it transitions to transom cap.
They all crack/get repaired at that corner.
As a Donzi I/O it would be a non issue.

Thought of this thread today and thought it’d be fun to bring back up and see what’s changed w/any of us and get input from those that missed the orig post.
Me, I have a new (er) towpigg good for 10 k lbs but my lust has stayed the same.
Still a clip on guy and my top of lists are unchanged.
Give me a fast, fun (challenge) to drive 25’ - 30’ twin OB vee bottom and a gas card....., and you won’t see me all season.
Met an IO guy this season and while listening to me ***** about access for maint on IO’s (bought my wife a 25’ single IO Checkmate for us to use while I work on the project and *****ed the whole time 😂 he said w/his wife’s help, he could have a motor out in 45 mins.
That impressed me....
Not ready for one but will remember that the next time an unloved old classic surfaces 😉
