Default Offshore Racing Isn’t Dead

Pronouncements of offshore racing's demise are as old as the sport itself, https://www.offshoreonly.com/article...cing-isnt-dead.

From the OSO home page.

Not dead .Not dead at all.
We are in need of a new salesman Though.
Someone who can go to territories where Offshore Racing is Viable.

The City,s aren't coming to us for pricing like we are in a phone book.

No , we need the next (pick youre own hero ) to promote us.

Like I said- after seeing the WHM post on IG, I really like what the class is doing on its own. Makes for more events. I get it now.

Well said. Given the recent announcement of Victory coming to KW and hoping to bring others with them I'd say that the sport is, as always, alive. I wouldn't say flourishing but I'd describe it as having a good, strong pulse. It will never be Nascar, but it sure would be nice if the players could find a way to play nice for the betterment of the sport. Its what the racers want and it happens for the most part, on their buck. The Cocoa Beach thing is without question, a reasonable move because the racers do not feel "safe". So solve it, don't blow it off. Put some effort in to solving the problem and making the guys who spend the money settled, warm and fuzzy. I just keep thinking no boats, no show. no show, no benefit for anyone.

It isn't that I don't get what you're saying, I love Supercat too, but I bet if you went you'd be pleasantly surprised with how fun the little guys are to watch. Ill admit, i think its probably more exciting at an OPA race where there's 15 boats in Class 5 but still.

Tell ya what won't help this sport. People either saying it's dead, saying its boring, saying they arent interested, etc. I bet promoters read that stuff. No different than people talking about a band. Why would they book them? If you aren't interested, that's your own deal. Going online and making sure everyone knows just how un-interested you are? Leave that to high schoolers on facebook talking about the prom they had no date for.

That isnt all directed at you Boatman, its a large group.
