Skater does it again—in a big way, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boat...ing-1350-power.

So probably close to the 200 mark when they turn the motors up , or 180 fully loaded

Who is going to order up for the new 2019 1100 unlimited class?? claiming 165mph with 1100's and handle the rough would be a contender

Some things to think about.... On the 1100 setting the race boat might actually run faster then the pleasure boat at 1350. The race boat would possibly be 1,500 - 2,000 lbs lighter. The aerodynamic difference of the canopy vs the open cockpit at 160-180 would probably give the canopy boat a 15- 20 mph advantage over the open boat with equal power. Drive height to not make it as usable as a pleasure boat but better for a race boat could gain 5-10 MPH. And the Rockette was not "setup" to run a top speed, It had limited running just a few passes, they may get it to run 185-190 with enough setup on the 1350 hp setting. So its possible a race version with 1100's could run over 180 MPH

I've been able to see firsthand this new 438 come to life over the past year or so - it is definitely a "next generation" Skater. I think this big Skater will even be fast with a pair of 860s in it, or quad 400Rs. The attached pic is from when it was ready to leave Skater last week. Congrats Pete and Tony, I can't wait to see them start showing up on the racecourse......

Great to see. Not sure if anyone else noticed, but look at the wing on the tunnel on the deck. Its like they put a negative splitter on it. I went back and looked at original pics and it was your typical flat deck design skater at the tunnel opening on the fron on the deck. Now look at it.

Just an unreal speed. I wonder who will even try to run it all out on the 1550 setting. Congrats Pete and crew, you did it to them again!!
