Thanks Matt! The project is moving along pretty well. We will be looking at different color ideas in the coming episodes. I am really inspired by more of an "automotive" inspired mono paint job. Want to do something a little different.

I really like these colors from Singer, the custom Porsche designer.

You don't see a lot of all silver or all blue in boats. But that would look cool on a smaller boat like that. Those Porsche's are amazing.

Episode 5 is up, In this episode we move things to the shop, where we look at the transom and stringer install. We talk about how the stringers were formed to fit perfectly to the hull, bonded in place, and we used 2408 fiberglass to glass everything in. The resin used is a proprietary resin Mark at Rage Powerboats likes to use. We also discuss the fuel tank plans and putting in the reinforcing tabs.
.

Episode 6 is up, we show the bulkheads installed, talk about the notch in the transom and if we are going to fill it. Plus, we talk about the new engines from Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing. We also add the Yamaha V MAX SHO 225 to the list of engine options, they need solid mounts but are good engines overall.

In episode 5 you were talking about how the stringers are beveled on the bottoms so the glass makes the bend from stringer to hull without coming to a 90 degree angle. It was talked about but never shown or explained how it was done. I can’t get it out of my head is why I’m asking.

I think we talked about fitting the stringers to the hull, angling them so they are flush. And glassing them in: It is difficult to form fiberglass cloth around a sharp 90 degree bend. You have to create radius at the top edges of the cores and fillet at the core/hull and core/bulkhead inside corners—a 3/8 – ½” radius can work.

Hopefully that makes sense. Always consult a professional, I'm not, but that's what we were talking about.
