10k hasnt run in 10 yrs. And 338 original hours. No soft spots. Interior is rough, my merc man told me 2k to rebuild carbs and get batteries.

Nice! You got a classic!!

open87 04-16-2018 08:33 PM

And to think people spend 20 times as much for a 30 ft CC today. Great find.enjoy!

rak rua 04-16-2018 09:18 PM

Congrats!
Now you have to get going with some work, get her on the water and share a few pics.
Dont think any CC's have made 'classic' or 'cult' status but those Scarabs are certainly well liked. :)

Did you buy it or just find it?

Noboat3rdcoast 04-16-2018 11:04 PM

Pick it up tomorrow

SecondWind 04-17-2018 06:19 AM

Congrats!

racinfast002 04-17-2018 06:20 AM

I saw that boat pop up. Please please please keep us updated on what all it takes to get going and what all needs to be repaired. Its either going to be a great buy or a total huge project and I'm curious as to which.

SLOWOUTBOARD 04-17-2018 06:24 AM

Cool with no ttop

Noboat3rdcoast 04-17-2018 08:23 AM

I will stay posted, its going straight to my mercury man. Were gonna be 2k right off the bat. If everything the owner says is yrue I think its gonna be a buy. But............its got a soft spot in the floor, in a place not typical on these boats. So that proba ly the beginning of the end.

No big deal, I have had a soft spot in my head for 65 years, hasn't impacted my life much! Just keep any "Bubba Chubba's" away from that area. Congrats on your new rig, even with repairs you will probably be under 20K. That amount of cash wouldn't buy a stereo and T-top on a new C/C.

racinfast002 04-17-2018 11:43 AM

At this point I think they are all soft in the floors. Scarab in all their infinite wisdom did not seal any of the screws in the deck. I sealed all of mine this past weekend. PIA.

Bringing her home. Owner had her for 25 yrs, he was a lil upset when I pulled away. This thing is like a time capsule.

Bought.

Lookin good!
Just curious, are you going to put a t-top back on? When I had a cc I ripped the top off in favour of an arch and bimini. A lot more open feel and more shade, maybe not so good if you're doing a lot of fishing.

I have the arch on mine and love the look. But it can be a real pain in the ass for fishing. Can't have it all I guess.

sprsptr 04-18-2018 08:33 AM

Great looking original graphics! The trailer alone has to be worth 4k-5k. It is always satisfying when you know you can recoup your investment in parts value alone.

Noboat3rdcoast 04-18-2018 09:15 AM

Yea, I also got 2 new props in the box. The ones on the motor are like new, still have really good cupping. Bad news in the graphics, theyre cracked, faded, and coming off....

What are you planning to for graphics? I wonder if they can be reproduced. I like the original look, nice color accent without being garish.

The day I posted this thread I dropped it off at the shop. Tomorrow it should roll into the work bay...
