I'm about 2 months out form moving to Texas, currently in Miami (job is forcing the move, not thrilled). We will be in the Corpus Christi area. Planning to trailer our Donzi up to Lake Travis and Canyon Lake on the weekends, might kiss the saltwater goodbye for good.

There are are few boater groups I've seen, TOPPS - they host and take part in some big runs, Tickfaw and Outlaw Challenge to name a few. Another (smaller) group is the Lake Travis LTPA group.

Congrats on the purchase of the Scarab, great choice!

I'm up on Lake Travis. Pretty decent crowd of go fast boats.

Lake Travis here as well. Boat hangs out on a trailer most the time in Briarcliff.

Corpus is a fisherman's paradise by all accounts, not many go-fasts. Galveston Bay is where all the performance boats are that are not landlocked

Lived in Corpus before Miami, wasn't too impressed with what it offered on the water...pretty shallow in a lot of areas too, touched bottom a few times with our old boat. Excited to get back to freshwater boating (easier for maintenance) and the big fishies don't bite. Doesn't mean I'll turn away a good time in the salt though, just excited to get some more freshwater time. Not many good lakes in South FL for powerboating.
