Agree. You are spot on with your timeframes for 400s. I ordered them to replace my 300s on Feb 10. Merc said 13 weeks, immediate response from them was ship date of 5/13. About a month ago Merc sent notice of change of ship date to 5/29, pretty much 15 weeks. We called today and they confirmed shipment next Tuesday. So demand continues to increase.:drink:

450R? That's interesting.
This new Yamaha is either going to expand the market, or eat into 400R sales - or maybe a little of both. I mean, for the CC market, would you rather have a big, torquey 5.6L V8 that can probably but down that 425hp for days on end, or a 3.4l boosted 6 cylinder? Weight wise I get it, but all you have to do is look at the warranty coverage (5 years! vs 1 year) to get an idea of which one's likely the more durable motor. Even though Merc doesn't talk about it, they've got something up their sleeve . . . Sorry guys, no reveals here because ... I have nothing to reveal. :) |
Anyone else think that Mercury will give us yet another i6 Verado 350 - 400 - 450 - 500 - 550? Maybe a 3,45L i6 SuperCharged. This to keep the reduced width compare to Yamaha XTO. (Stack more Verados aside on a boat) and weight and RPM?

I suspect they will do a 350NA V8 but no need now, with the 350 being quite new. First supercharged V8 would prob be 500hp. Not sure about the in between. I doubt they would stretch the V8 to the same hp/L as the I6. |

what I heard it’s around 525hp and already on a running boat. A V10 would be a naturally evolvement from the V8 if they consider cutting out the supercharger, but ... why? I thought the supercharger was a success for Mercury. |
