I can get the simeks on dealer pricing. But I am going to tell you why I do not recommend them. I do like the no drill install that alone is a huge selling point.
Here is the deal --- the neg. side ----- the water picks at certain speeds create an air void (pocket) directly inline of the prop blades as they rotate. . The faster you go the bigger the air pocket becomes. . By me telling this alone I am taking sales right out of my pocket. With that said I would not use one for a sport boat. I would use a proven drive shower that the water pick ups are not in front of prop blades rotating. Just saying. |

I got a 'cap type' from Hardin Marine. Easy install, had to remove the top cap and install the longer bolts (supplied) then drill 3 holes in the cav plate. I've got hydraulic steering and it fits around it perfectly. Pickup is behind the prop and you can mount it on either side. Be careful drilling holes in the cav plate, the diagram supplied appears to include a template for the holes but it's NOT a template, it's only a diagram. we have go pro many in the past. The ones with the V cuts at the pick ups do not work that well. find one that basically is not V cut at the pick up but also ends up at a good pick up level ( angle ) according to how your drive is trimmed while running, That really is the key. Angle of the pick up where the angles of your drive is mostly trimmed at, And of course a shower that is not putting a hole void for prop blade(s) rotation

Also use simrek but did have an issue paying 200 for SS tubing

Just bought some Latham Marine showers. Pricey units but very high quality.
Bought some Hardin Marine ones that literally rusted the first weekend in the water. Then they were super rude and nasty about it. Wouldn't recommend Hardin. |
