HELP... looking for an Ilmor INDY drive in short order
 

Just got word that a buddy's drive rebuild is not going to be done in time for our big local Poker Run next weekend. The Run literally leaves from his backyard.
Does anyone have an Ilmor Indy drive for sale, or that they would be willing to lease with any damage covered? (Yes, serious about last part.)
Needed in Norfolk, Virginia.

From what I'm hearing you should expect to be without a Indy drive for a year plus. They do not have parts to fix them and any gearsets they do get are out of tolerance and will explode.

They are saying it will be done by 4th of July.
Drive is under warranty, and was found to have water in it upon beginning of season inspection. It should just need seals and a once over. But that’s too late for the run.

prob a lottery long shot but call Teague custom marine and see what he can refer of one possible laying around. There was not many INDY drives made period and for not that long. what like 2 or 3 years total.

I'd see if Dan at Outerlimits knows of any available. He owned a Indy boat and OL built a few Indy powered boats.

If they are in short supply I wouldn't have high expectations of borrowing one in June.....if it was Nov. for the Key West run then more folks might consider lending one with winter around the corner.
