Don't think there is anything that can b done by vhf...smart phone app just came out that you can plan your trip enter passport numbers and call in. If they need to they flip over to a video chat to view actual documents. They just started this in Ohio I would imagine the Detroit office would use it also... but not sure ... a phone call before is a good idea to b sure tho.
