We gave up on sunglasses underway and switched to small goggles. |
Thanks for all the cool info. I got my two pairs of sunglasses from Aeropostale. They are identical except one is polarizing and one is not. I'm leaving on vacation today but when I get back I will do a side by side comparison driving the boat on big water. These glasses are decent quality and look nice and only cost $12 and $7 so no big deal when I lose or break a pair.
I also keep a ziplock baggie on board with an assortment of men's and women's sunglasses for friends who forget to bring some.https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...22fa9e63be.jpg |
Try Sunclouds, most pairs are under $50 and work well.

not just a boat problem... none of the digital gauges in my z06 read correct with polarized raybans. I thought the car was messed up.;)

Considering a probably have about a dozen pairs in the Chesapeake Bay somewhere, I too just roll with the cheapies from Wally world.

Protect your eyes, ears and skin, replacements are hard to find.

Time for a conclusion after 1 year! On the big lakes (Great Lakes) when I need to read the water I've found that when the sun is behind me I ditch the polarized glasses for non-polarized. The water becomes brighter and much easier to read. All other times the polarized are much better. Cheers to all and I hope everyone is having a safe and trouble free boating season! :ernaehrung004:
