One thing is you have to watch out with the 496 spark plug wires - number 7 can come loose all on its own. Some spark plug wires and or the boots can arch off of metal areas on the engine over time from cracks or worn thru wires or boots. Not uncommon for that.. Anyways look at the pic below and what do you think cause the issue - 2006 Merc 496 - 188 hours only. Some trivia to see whom comes up with the answer.
