Just sold my single engine Powerquest 270 wanting to go larger,and looking for something that will handle lake Michigan a lot better. Trying to get opinions on a couple of boats or what to look for. I ran across a really nice Advantage Victory 32 that's in amazing condition but I have no idea how it will handle the chop compared to a more deep V like the PQ 340 Vyper or a 353 Formula. Just trying to get some recommendations from the guys who know about this more then I do. My wife and I are just wanting a boat with a larger cuddy then a 35 Fountain which isn't saying much.....I'd appreciate any input. Thanks

The heavier and deeper the V the better the ride and ability to handle rough water.
I like the looks of the Advantage and it should handle the average day on Lake MI. without any problems.
The formula will have the best ride due to it's weight. And it is 3 ft longer ( I know the older ones were HEAVY )
The PQ is also a nice looking boat but I don't know what the build quality is.
I doubt that You could go wrong with any of those.
BUT if you THINK that you would like the boat to go faster after you have it for a year or two buy the Advantage.
I used to have a SCARAB 34 and it handled 2 fters like they were flat and up to 5 fters without getting beaten up.

The 340 PQ will have the biggest cabin and amenities and they are built to handle Lake Michigan. My buddy has an Advantage and had to have a bunch of fiberglass repairs in the cabin after a day on lake Michigan. Formulas are pretty good boats too. The older SR-1 are straight bottom and heavier. Might look at a Sonic 35SS also.

I appreciate all the input so far. I know the PQ's and Formulas are built like tanks and just plow thru the water....might not always be the fastest but were wanting to run mid 70's with HP500's or comparable. And thats crazy about the Advantage needing glass repair on the inside i've read amazing things about them and the one we looked at didn't have a single stress crack on it and its been a lake Michigan boat and runs 80's with HP500's.... I guess that shows no 2 boats are built exactly the same. I also like the Sonics just are really hard to find anywhere near the area.

A 34 PQ will run mid 70s all day with 496 Mag HO's. I'd take those any day over HP500's.

Not on your list,,,,,,,our 36 Outlaw wasnt the fastest,,,,, but had a ton of room and went through anything comfortably

This may have a larger cuddy than a 35 Fountain. Have you considered a cat? These Nor-Tech cats are heavy, good riding rough water boats from what I've heard.

I think the Nortech is a little out of my price range for sure and were trying to stay away from a baja. Thanks for everyone input so far

What is your budget? I have a 35 Nordic flame that I am going to be listing soon. About the Advantage needing fiberglass work, that would not be typical of that brand. I have owned 3 Advantages and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
