7s are heavy at over 1,000 lbs and they are expensive compared to a Merc 400r.

If you are looking for speed they are not the engine.

I think the lower units can handle it. They have the same dual shaft design as the Merc 6 or 8 drive.

I don't like the look of 3 or more outboards on a sport boat. If you need 4 outboards why not get twin I/O's.

The seven Marine lowers are not as reliable as some may believe. They have just done a good job of keeping it under wraps

For the cost of one 860 and drive (M6) you can get both 400R's and money left over.

Exhibit A.

How much is a 400? The 860 and drive is 80K real numbers?

I pass the Volvo test facility weekly and noticed recently they have a few center consoles with 7's on them, definitely started testing them there. One is a Single on what looks like a 27-30 center console the other is twins on a fountain.

I know it's not the style of OSO but a 40 Invincible cat with quad 350's just made its way to our local waters, bad ass.

I think they would need to go with Quad 400's on most of these big cats
