Sometimes they will vapor lock. I’ve got a recirc pump to the transom where the fuel water seps are that helps. And the issue can usually be beat in a few minutes. But you have to be smart, because they might die when shifting if it’s hot out and you’ve been running.

This is happening to the White and Blue statement in the area. He is over it he said and Mercs are going on.

what causes vapor lock? Is it an inherent problem with the engine design? Or the way the fuel system is plumbed? Thx, Rm

Its inherent to returnless single line EFI fuel systems imo.

On the the other hand, the issue is known to Zukes. My boats previous owner setup the low pressure pump. White cowlings might help.

I like verados. Power steering failures scare me a bit. And I suspect they dont hold up in the 1000+ hr range like a Suzuki or Yamaha. The high cylinder pressure piper must be paid eventually.

I can I honestly don't know anyone with 1000hrs on Verados at this time so cant comment on that at all.

I will say the white and blue Statement will never see that many hours, that boat will be long sold before than and a new one in it's place lol.

Talk to Nick at Nick's Creative Marine in Riviera Beach, FL. He has re-rigged hundreds of boats with Suzuki motors. They swear by Suzuki Power in the Bahamas. The motors run well and last!
