More fuel injector news
for big blocks that use what we call the silver bullets in the industry now has become the most knocked off injector for the marine side inwhich is causing huge issues. They are sold in sets of 8 online including Ebay, amazon and even thru dealers for an average price of $350 to $ 450. DO NOT BUY THEM PERIOD.
With that said even the OEM offering silver bullet fuel injector really are not that good as far as balance flow volume rates right out of the box plus they are 22 year old technology on top of. Also the connector portion is very weak for any support and is easily broken by handling it. I have come up with a plug and play all American modified fuel injector and tested including testing by myself. The price is half of the OEM silver bullets but not much more than the Asian Knock offs fuel injectors for a set a 8 that are flooding the online market.. The Silver bullets 2 of them in the pic in the next post are knock offs inwhich do not even come close to what is needed for flow volume rates nor the spray patterns. This customer has 2 down cylinders from using 2 knock off injectors. One would have to ask were did the savings come in play here buying cheap priced online injectors. He saved alright with a current rebuild. Word of warning. Pics of the silver bullets in next post below. Thanks for listening |

These are what we call the silver bullet fuel injectors. 2 in this set are knock offs. 2 are fairly new OEM bought about a year ago and the other 4 are OEM original from year 2000. The engine needs a rebuild. |
plug and play replacement all brand new sets of 8 and current offerings. Not 22 year technology. Also balanced https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...65f80189eb.jpg
and tested 3 times. |

Sorry about the OSO PM, Many PM me about all boat related stuff. I clear some PMs out and within an hour or half a day its full again. Sorry about that once again and believe me I would like to answer any questions you have especially what I am offering.
Applications would be later 90 's Big blocks --- 454 and 502 up till those engines went away and small blocks including the 6.2 up till 2002 or 2003 depending on engine serial number for Mercruiser apps. If you would like tell me what you have and engine serial number plus year model and whether its stock set up especially the fuel injectors. |
Don’t the 525efi engines use the same injector you have? |

For the Silver bullets there was NO direct cross replacement. You can still get the silver bullet fuel injectors but way too many are knock offs and the REAL OEMs are not cheap. If bought thru Merc they are like 179 per each injector that would over 1500 dollars for a set of 8. - Thats over 3 times the cost of what I have for the replacement plus mine is a more current offering and has a way better connector bodied into the case of the injector. The silver bullet fuel injectors connector is very weak by design. Actually the poorest for an bodied injector connector. They become loose and or break away from the body injector exterior case for a jist of info.. The knock off of the silver bullet fuel injectors is another huge issue as well. NO more worries about that one - if whom ever buys what I have. |
I don’t think I need any particular hi performance version of this injector, just 2 sets of IWP069’s that would meet Merc spec for a already POS injector. I have 5.7’s , not sure of the year, serpentine belt inboards. Merc originally used a Weber, that was acquired by Magnetti Marelli and later outsourced to China . |
I have a pair of 06 350 mags with 205 hours on them. No running issues. I want to add Lucas injector cleaner through the fuel system. Thoughts??
