I'll get on it David. The optional external tie-bar bracket might increase overall width, we'll see

please don't forget your friends when your 280's go up for sale

That would be a LOT of weight hanging off the transom David, those motors weigh 720#s apiece. Add brackets and tie-bars, and you'd have about as much weight as a pair of BBC/6 drives back there, but hanging off the back of the transom rather than in the boat. I can only imagine the handling issues you would face having the CG that far rearward, plus dragging a pair of those big 5.44" gearcases through the water coming through the tunnel. And you know you could convert the boat to inboards with brand new #6 drives and motors for the same price as quad 450Rs. I've always been a fan of what you've done with the quad 2.5s, but I think you'd be much happier with a pair, or even triple 450Rs rather than quads 450Rs. I've been out in Matt Rice's old 368 w/400Rs (my buddy now owns it) and I was very impressed with how well it ran. I think you'd be really happy with a pair of the 450Rs on your beautiful 36!

The latest Mercury Racing 300R Five‑Blade CNC Cleaver propellers are designed expressly to maximize the performance of 300hp outboards with very little slippage.

can also be used on 300XS and 300X outboard motors
