What boat did you own when you joined OSO?
 

I found OSO in 2002 shortly after I bought my 1988 Fountain 8.8mtr on Lake Lanier, Georgia. I was bartending at the time and that is how it got its name and how I got my screen name. I also found OSO in 2002. I bought my Scarab Panther with my severance check when I lost my job (2002). I painted it all white in 2005 and have updated over the years. Still have it and probably sell next summer.

I found OSO around 2000 but never joined until I bought something in 2010...a Powerquest 257

When I joined OSO in Oct 2000, I just sold my first boat, a 1992 Chris Craft 208. I was shopping for a perf. boat, that's probably how I stumbled across OSO. I was looking hard at Checkmates, Baja, Sonic, and Velocity, but ended up with a 24 Superboat.

I joined in 2000, I had a 1986 Donzi Z-25. Then 2 years later bought a 1998 Powerquest 260.

I joined in 2002, had a 21' Sea Ray, wound up ordering a 28' Nordic new after listening to many member's opinions here.

I found OSO in 99 i believe when the board was just starting...at that time i had a 30' 1984 Scarab II that was dubbed "Stress Test" as the first year of ownership saw it go through 5 engines! :mad:

Joined NOv. 2000, had a 280 Velocity with HP500. This is only Pic I still have of her. Sometimes wish I still had her, I'd be retired by now with all the money I have spent on boats since them!! :)

Had a 96 Rinker Captiva 232 with a big block when I joined in 2006... the next spring I traded for our current boat, an 88 Formula 311

I owned 2 boats when I found OSO (a 21ft Chris Craft CC and a 29 Sundancer). A friend had just taken us on our first poker run and literally on the way home my wife said..."sell them both". Screen name was my goal back then (twin 500's). Ended up with a Formula 312 with 502's......but that was 4-5 boats ago!

Joined in 2007 as I was beginning to redesign my 35' Cigarette Awesome into a 28' center console. Had a build thread in the Cigarette section. Still have it complete with teak floors.

Joined about a year after I purchased my first boat. 1998 Powerquest 29 Enticer.

My buddy here in Oklahoma owns your old boat now - he bought it without power and put 500EFI's in it -- really fun boat!

How does it run with the 500's?

That boat fell off the face of the earth along with F-4 001. You have a way of making things disappear!

Bet it runs great with 500s. It ran pretty good with 454 mags. I put 450 hours on that boat in 5 years on LOTO. Never had a ding or stress crack on it. It still remains the most fun boat to drive I've owned. Still remember the day we pulled it out at PB2 as it went to its new owner in Michigan. I don't think the guy owned it very long. Lost track of it after that. Thanks for the post.

1999 Sonic 260 Prowler with 500EFI
My Dad happened to be in town on business the day I picked it up. It was one of THE greatest thrills in my life to take him out on his first ride on a go-fast boat.

I'll also never forget the sea-trial, specifically the launch. The sales rep, when backing the boat down the ramp under the Kent Narrows bridge, hit one of the pilings with the swim platform. I was in his Suburban, looked over and said "What did you do to YOUR boat?" He shot me the ugliest look ever. :D I still bought it though.
