The Gladiator has excellent overall visibility. However, with no rub rail and your limited mobility, could docking be an issue?

Shoulnt be, I'm not tying the lines.

I’ve been in the Gladiator and ZRC, and the Gladiator will probably be best for you. There were a few different Cockpit configurations on the Gladiators pending staggered or side-by-side engines, and narrow or wide cockpit. One of the worst complaints I’ve heard on the 42’ Fountain PR is ingress/egress to the cockpit. You really can only get in from the very back of the cockpit. That doesn’t stop me from liking them though. You may want to look into a 34’ Phantom: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6ef3ae40c9.gif Also, Midnight Express has made a least one Center Console with a transitioning bolster for someone such as yourself. I think the issue you may find with any of the traditional stand-up boats and bolsters is the bolster may not be secure enough for you. But creating a slightly shorter base with a rotating top half could be feasible for any boat that has full base support to the floor and doesn’t tie into the gunwale. I know some guys in Atlanta who build SWAT and other Military vehicles and can fabricate anything under the sun. https://www.powerandmotoryacht.com/b...-quadrapalegic Also 2, look into the Donzi 35 and 38 ZR as they have more of a hybrid seating config, half bolster/half seat. Lastly, the ZRC and the 33/37 Active Thunders are some of the flattest riding/planing Vee-hulls I’ve experienced. I was able to bring my 37’ AT up COMPLETELY flat, and since the nose drops off (deck has more of a banana shape, not a flat deck), visibility was always great. It would even stay on plane at 17mph. However, it’s a deep cockpit. You would need a boat with split front bolsters instead of “buddy seating”. I am certain that Pat at AT could accommodate though on a new build; and perhaps the newer options with an open center and outboards would also be great for ingress/egress. |

This is what I know of right now. I do not know the boat personally, it was the JBS F-2 race boat but only ran a handful of races.

Sorry to high jack.
Tom, what will a side by side ZRC run with 525's ? Thanks, Jeff The F2 Kilo record was 89mph I believe in a 38' Fountain but the ZRCs still dominated the division. As for the thread at hand, I agree the best sit down V for visibility and egress would be the Gladiator. The ZRC has good overall visibility sitting even over your shoulder because you can see over the the raised area where the canopy ends. Getting in and out of the boat is easy from the back seat area and rear of the boat but can be a little tricky getting on and off the deck. The Fountain PR boats look very cool but are a pain to get in and out of as stated already and can be very difficult to see when not on plane. The canopy limits the visibility. Another option would be an Outerlimits 37 or 42 GTX. They have a more open windscreen than the newer SV models and were still fiberglass so they ride smoother. |
That ZRC with Merc 860's would be one hell of a package

...Who can make an adjustable height bolster that turns 180? Check with Stidd, they are fairly capable. Could possibly work w/ the stock seat in the boat. https://stidd.com/products/shock-mitigating-seats/ |
How are the Outerlimits 39 GTX compared to a ZRC or Glad ?
How fast with 700's ? |
