Garmin screens or analog gauges???
Currently in the process of building a new boat and looking for experience/feedback on using Garmin screens vs analog gauges for non-Mercury power. My only experience is with analog gauges and I have no complaints other than the fact that they eat up lots of dash space. I will have a large Garmin in the center of the dash but that will primarily be used as a gps. My main concerns with screens are glare and possible issues interfacing with my engines (they will have CANBUS). |
I'd take a good look at Simrad, they have a really nice digital gauge interface. I believe they are the ones who make vessel view for mercury. I'd really like to know if mercury vessel view can be added to non mercury engines, that would be an awesome setup!!

I don’t use my Garmin for gauges, but I can tell you, you won’t have a problem with glare or seeing the screen in sunlight, they’re really nice screens. Another option you could look into is AEMs digital dash the CD-7. They have adapters to interface with almost every ECM, supposed to be sunlight readable etc. |
