Prop choices
Trying to pick which pitch to move up to. I am running a 23P mirage plus that was labbed. 3/4 throttle I run up to redline and max speed which is 70.3 on gps. I am thinking of trying a 4 blade 26P to see if I can settle my RPM to 4600-4800 RPM. Using BBlades prop slip calculator I currently am experiencing 5.3% prop slip (4800 rpm 67mph) run to redline (5100) and it makes it to 70.3mph full tank of fuel myself and son on board. using BBlades calculator if go to the 26P 4 blade it brings speed to 75mph at 4800 rpm. it sees river duty on Havasu and lake pleasant in AZ
Opinions?
Its a 98 Baja Hammer with a warmed over BBC bravo 1 and 1.5 drive.

I installed the 25P Mirage Plus and slip is at 18%, no increase in speed.
23P Mirage Plus Labbed by BBlades 4800rpm 66mph/ 5100 rpm 70mph
25P Mirage Plus NON LABBED 4800 rpm 66 mph 5100rpm 66mph
All speeds GPS Tach 100% correct.
Huge difference, I will be sending this out to BBlades. With the labbed 23P I get 5.3% slip with un labbed used prop I get 18%
Noticeable vibration with unlabbed prop, hole shot is terrible. There is noticeable chine walk also. Blades are variable in thickness, no distinct boundary from cutting edge to pushing/throwing edge like on my labbed prop.
Depending on what BBlades says I may also cut the diffuser down........Baja Hammer needs bow lift.

I tried Mirage, Mirage+, Bravo 1 props. All had high slip numbers and bow porpoise. I tried a Rev 4 prop and loved the prop. Hole shot good, slip improved, top speed improved and no more need to trim either tabs or drive to eliminate the porpoise problem. I am sold on these (another one in transit to me now). Be aware that the pitch on these are as marked as where the Mirage/Bravo props are less actual pitch than stamped. Just my results, yours most likely will vary (I have a Formula '87 242SS with 475/500 HP).

I am shocked at what a labbed prop can do for a boat. BBlades made the 23P and it is amazing. Side by side "look" is night and day difference. So is the performance.

I have a 25" Mirage + he did, I have not yet had a chance to try it, your experience is encouraging. I played with 5 different props last year trying to dial in the prop. I landed on the Rev 4 for my everyday prop, good slip and good speed. I want to try the BBladed prop and hope it makes a good top speed prop. I think the Rev 4 is much better slip at cruise speed. The Rev 4 23" got me just under 2 mpg on gps. The 23 Mirage+ was a tick over 1 mpg. Got me an untried Rev 4 25". We'll see.
