My roughly estimated, scientific wild a$$ guess is ~2.5mpg, based upon this crappy math:
1gph for 10hp X 60 (600hp)= 60gph (huge inference, no idea on the Daytona’s HP)
60gph x 75% (cruise rpm, 90mph)= 45gph
90 miles traveled with 45 gal consumed is 2mpg
The extra mpg comes in the no wake/idle zone, but your 540+ c.i. is still going to burn roughly 3 times the fuel of my 183 c.i. at idle, and your off-plane speed is probably similar, maybe 1-2mph faster.

But man, 90mph cruise...... now you’ve renewed my urge for a 21 Liberator or 22 Talon with an egg beater on back.

being an air entrapment hull I get better MPG at 80 than I do at idle.
I don't have anything but the skag below the prop and the prop from 4:00 to 8:00 actually IN the water.
that and it is fuel injected.
My slip # above 80 MPH is just under 4%

I idle in gear at 700 RPM, 1.34 ratio drive at 5 MPH with a 26 pitch 5 blade prop.

Lol, my WOT slip is 3-4 times that depending on the prop.... but I bet my insurance is cheaper!
Was just reading about a 21 Liberator going 112 with the new 300R..... and a $5,000 CNC 34” prop.
I need to stop reading or totally forget my retirement plans.

if there are differences, why would the new 400 R not have the salt water serie while they are sold so many times for salt water use?

just a question because im curious ! Thanks!
I had verado 300s and 400s. I'm not aware there were salt water vs fresh water versions. Can't speak for the 2 strokes.

No saltwater/freshwater distinction on the Verados. The Verados have the integrated steering, hence no exposed tilt tube like the 2 strokes.

A. That’s an awesome rate. Everything I’ve seen posted online for cats/pickles is about 3 times that.
B. Mine’s still cheaper (just under $500/yr since I repowered).
C. 43 years?! I wasn’t born when they took you on as a client.
