Who makes wheels for a 03chevy dually

I just bought a2003 4x4 4dr 3500 chevy dually. i found one set of wheels that they say will fit. amercian d8 in 16s,chrome plated
,they dont look so hot.they were 275. each and 5. each lug. they say chevy changed the callipers on 2001 and up on the 3500 , front will not clear the callipers or center hub is will not fit over wheel.weld evo siad comming out with one but WD. is 525.00 each. 525.is alittle much for evey day truck.
has any body tried any thing else or know of any thing????

Go with the lift kit and the 22.5's. They are the baddest thing going right now for the 3500 duallys. I will post a picture as soon as I get the film developed. With the lift kit, there is no need to modify the wheel well openings and it looks killer.

ALCOA has just started production of a wheel for the late model Chevy dually's. I don't think that they are available for the general public yet, although I have seen a set. They will be on my truck as soon as they are available.

Rob, I put the new alcoa hot shot dually rims on my 02 chev. What I did was I bought rims for a 99 dually and had the center hub machined out 34 thousands, that is the only difference and they fit perfect. They have been on for 12,000 miles with no problems and they look great.

ike they told me they hit the calipers?i wonder if 4x4 on the front makes a diffreance?are the chrome plated or clear coated?

Ike 10-31-2002 02:08 PM

Rob, I was told by my wheel dist. that he thought they hit the caliper but i found out that it was just the hub was bigger. My truck is a 4x4 and my wheels are aluminum, they fit perfect, Ike.

kn i called a dist. they said the ultra 12 will fit. trying to find the best price . 325.oo so far, there is no dealers close to me . trying to call ultra cant get a live person.
talked to alcoa, there wheel is just polished alum so will have to pollish all the time.
the weld evo ,trying to find a pict . i guess to new?

I have 285/75/16 goodyear ats tires on my dually but i had to have ARP make me longer rear studs and i had to get spacers so the rear tires did not rub each other. I don't think you can put a bigger tire on it without some big mods. The truck sits about two inches higher and looks awesome and rides and handles great.
Rob taking care of them is no big deal and they are alot cheaper, about $200.00 apiece. Do you want it to look like a real truck or a honda with those honda wheels?:D

ps. Rob have i seen your camaro in some magazines before running in the fastest street car classes or outlaw classes?

The 22.5 Alcoa wheels are awesome. My brother has a set on a slightly lifted 2003 3500 duramax dually and the look is killer. No mods to the fender wells either. Slight lift and the hub adapter is all you need to play with the big boys.

Rob, the only reason I knew about those type 12's is I saw them on a dually. They looked so sharp, i went over to see what they were. Do a search on yahoo or something looking for ultra wheels, you may be able to find them cheaper. And if your not in a rush, check out e-bay for a while. Good luck.
