Inspect, glad you chimed in, I tried to explain to Saber the "Media Hype" of the religious right a few nights ago. It is propoganda, all media labels. Well said in both posts.

How embarrssing (for the entire country, not just the Dems themselves) was the memorial service......?.......they booed Trent Lott......at a memorial service....wait, let me get this straight, they actually booed someone.......again....BOOED SOMEONE AT A MEMORIAL SERVICE!!!! How in the hell do you get booed at a memorial service.....this is sick, pure lunacy....a shame.

Democrats will not avoid sinking to sub human levels to further political careers. These people have no shame, they are willing to make a mocary of an accidental untimely death inorder to advance a democrats plitical position. They have revealed a side many of us have been screaming about for years. This gross act of greed has even me shaking my head. I hope the true hearted Democrats raise hell about this circus.....I doubt they will. I guess Clinton will be visiting the next "Republican planned death" memorial service to start "the wave". Scum.

Saber28, I understand what you are saying and I really don't know quite how to put it in words and I know there is a lot of confusion out there but, true Christianity is not man reaching up to God (religiosity) but rather God reaching down to man and man accepting God's free gift through faith. With Christianity, people want you and I to know that God loves us and that He is for us---not against us. And I think that is where people think that we "impose" our beliefs on them. We cannot save ourselves. Christ is our only hope--------and people just don't want to believe it can be narrowed down to that---it's like it's too simple for them to grasp or something---I don't know.

allan4,

there might be some truth to the media exagerating the religious right in the R's party, but smart people can make up their own minds about the fringes in both parties.we could dual about this all night but i have a business to run in the morning

catmando

right on! sex is natural, sex is good- george micheal. funny how we cannot let 16 year old boys see a naked booby, but we can show him 37 people getting mowed down with a semi-automatic.

did you ever notice that most of the puritan/sexually repressed people are the people you wouldn't want to have sex with in the first place

America's penchant for hatred of the human body causes me to wonder how long a nation so influenced by the Christian religion can survive.
I would think much longer than the Roman and/or Greek empires. The reign of the American civilization will be measured in thousands, not hundreds, of years. Although the left would love us to give up our sovereignty to "the New World Order"-socialism by another name, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. The greatest enemy of big government and socialism is sitting right in front of you. As like minded people all over the country realize that the left's view of America is totally wrong and the media is just parroting the liberal/socialist cause, they gain strength. That strength and conviction is what made this the greatest civilization in the history of the world. Just enjoy it Cat, don't feel so guilty that you have to knock it all the time.

kamma,

i'm not an atheist by any means, i just believe in leaving people alone to do what they want without judging them (within reason)
do you think a jerry falwell, if president, would not try to impose his christian beliefs on all americans?

I've told you before Cat, that you were religiously atheistic. You are just as bad as any in the religious right. You start religious discussions at will all over this board just to spread your "word". As I have said before also, this tends to bring out the religion in others that might never talk about it otherwise. I will talk politics anytime, anywhere, to anyone but it is only here that I find myself defending Christianity. I belong to the UCC for Pete's sake. My church is about as far from a right wing church as you can get. They are as liberal as it comes and I like it that way. I firmly believe that bleeding hearts belong in church, not in government. The best thing about it is when they give my money away I have given it willingly, it has not been forcibly taken like when the libs in government give my money away.

Feel free to keep it up though, I don't see many converts to your way of thinking and it does make one reaffirm their relationship with GOD. Remember, it was the loss of religion and the belief in human supremacy that has been the downfall of most if not all of the fallen empires.
