Thanks. Anything that doesn’t need straps?

Quinlan 01-22-2019 05:08 PM

those anchor shades are pretty nice. The straps can adjust to the cleats. Once you set it the first time its very easy to set up each time. Just Don't move with it up or you will be buying another.

5'X5' EZ-Up from Ebay for $65 shipped. Fits perfect in the cockpit and raises high enough to get on the deck without bending over at 6'1"

Seen an umbrella this summer blow out of someone's cockpit that was not strapped down. Everyone in the cove was clapping when he finally caught up to it.

We tried an anchor shade.. a lil breeze and you had to snug it up!

Got a bimini instead!, works great, quick to put up with quick cleats and straps on front. Does good cruising, but dont go over 45-50.
Ours covers whole cockpit! Lays down on head rests when running and can put up in 30 secs.

Bimini really is the best. I have both and only use the Bimini. The pole for the anchor shade ends up right in the middle of the cockpit and always in the way.

The bimini on my boat only covers the front two bolsters, I wanted to extend it a bit but wasn't impressed by the Anchor Shade for the money. I picked up a 9' diameter beach umbrella with telescoping pole for about half the price on Amazon. Has a fringe with HD grommets which I used a polycord to attach it to end of bimini to make an extension. Not best looking setup, but functioned very well and covered the back seat and half of sun pad on 380 Powerquest. Very sturdy when wind blew too and folds as easy as any umbrella.

I had a bimini that came with my 30 Superboat from the previous owner. I used it once. It provided a decent amount of shade and was good up to about 50 MPH. I have an anchor shade too. Had it for years and only used it a handful of times. What boat do you have?

Thanks for replies. Boat is fountain 35 ex. Funny thing is my wife really doesn’t want it. We really don ‘t anchor out too much, so we may just bring couple umbrellas for th no wake zones.

Anchor shade. Only pic I have of the boat with it up. Used it twice, but it works, and folds away & stores nice.

When I redid my interior, I had a market umbrella mount integrated into my center console/footrest. I have a 18" aluminum tube that slides into it and then it just slides in and secures with a set screw. Can replace the cheap umbrella as needed down the road.
