I know Superboat has built at least one of their later model 30's with OB's.

I have a 30 sport deck. I really enjoy the boat.

I would guess the Concept still has the molds for the boat. If you contacted them they might dust them off for you.

^^ How many were made?

Wildman_grafix 02-12-2019 02:08 PM

^^^^^ How does that run? speed with the twin 300's?

JrCRXHF 02-12-2019 02:19 PM

Not many were made. It took me a couple of years to find one.

As for speed, I have got it up to 75mph. I went and rebuilt the motors and built a new set of sport masters for it so the motors need run time to get them out of break in. Last summer we had problems getting parts from mercury and the ones we got sometimes they were no good. Don't even get me started on that.

I only got out once last summer.

Do you have better pictures of the way the motors are mounted? Looks like a bracket and a swim platform? Nice looking boat, I think I remember seeing it when it was listed.

Biggest issue, IMO, is that a closed deck sports boat with twin 400's is 200k and you can entertain 3-4 friends who want to go fast with the wind in their face. Pull up at a bar or on anchor and there's no room to move around onboard, you're standing upright or sitting back in your bolster. The CC market is so practical, wider beam with entertaining space plus performance is now pretty much on a par with most closed bow sports boats.

Boats are too expensive to be purchased on 'whimsy', buyers want to get more for their dollar. There will always be exceptions and there's a very small number of manufacturers out there who can cater for that. The mass market is no longer there.

I agree with you I miss the loud engines but not the maintenance and lack of space to move around in. That’s why I converted my 31’ cigarette to outboards, expanded the cockpit to 9’ and made it a four sleeper. Get the same speed as 454’s and use regular gas at 3 mpg.

You gotta love Baja's attempt. Outlaw hull/ outboards/ keep the engine bay/ wakeboard rack/ "X2" stickershttps://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...03f2b729f8.jpg

^^^^^^ that was horrible. I mean not only colors, the tower, and then not moving the seat back. it's like we don't know what it wanted to be.
