New paint for a Cig...
It looks as though I am close to putting a deal together to purchase a Top Gun. It is a older unit with original paint. It has great hardware and a new interior, but is in need of some fresh paint.
My question is this. The boat is currently in the western US, so is there a GREAT (not good) shop out there? Or should I haul it to Florida where they might have more experience with big Cig's. I am looking to design a one of a kind paint job that will absolutely stop you in your tracks when you see it! I have had GeoGraphics do some design work and was very impressed with their ideas. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences? I want to hear them all! Thanks John |
Look up MitcherT from MI or check out his work on that other site in the gallery section:D

You should just buy the Hulk Hogan Scarab. That'll stop someone in their tracks. LOL!
|
32fever: I said stop them....not make them comatose! LOL
|
What I am looking for here is good/bad reviews from people who have had a Cig painted before. I do not want to make a mistake here.

Locally, check out Vincent at LOTO. He painted my boat and He's done a lot of good looking cig's. Top notch work. I'm sure he can do just about anything you can dream up. (573) 369-3355, tell him Shorty with the Mach1 sent ya.
Also check with SSherman. Jesse James was done in St Louis and is a work of art. |
That reminds me...who did the paint on the "Bad to the bone" boat?
Isn't that the Nitro Fish boat? I love that paint, but I did not get a chance to see it up close. |

Summer Obsession,
I had the graphics on a Bullet updated a few years ago. Dave Hunter from Ft. Lauderdale did the work. I would highly recommend him. He is great to work with and is very talented. Here is before |

I have seen several Cigs that David Hunter has painted that I really liked. I son't suppose there are many out there that have painted more 'guns than he has.

SummerObsession,
Dave Hunter is right at the top of my list, he painted our gun, but he is all the way down in FL. I would give some thought to giving Dan Patterson a call here in St. Louis.... His company is called Air-Power Graphics... He has done several of the big name / memorable boats that are at LOTO and he also does all of BigFoot's paint work... Some of the boats he has done at LOTO include: Crazyhorse Zero Gravity Bad Habit Jesse James>> Ssherman's boat Dave Scott's 36' Skater Nauti-Marine Several 40' Skaters ETC.....ETC... If you want something eye-catching, Dan is your man... he just loves it when his customers let his creativity run wild!!! BTW, I want a ride if you ever bring it to LOTO... I was there the day Pete took that Cig. in on trade... It is one bad mamma jamma!!! Regards... |
Sorry for the log in name-I'm on the wife's computer(don't tell her!)
Tbone: thanks for the info! The boats you listed are bad-ass no doubt! Thanks for the good words on the boat! For some reason, i think 1000hp and #6 drives sould like a REAL good time. |
