My buddy has the old race boat with 700's and arnesons, runs in the mid 90's and has never really been set up 100%. rides well in Lake Erie...It is a solid boat

I have seen about 6-8 different 38 NT's for sale over the years and always liked the looks of them. Classic lines with a deep freeboard and good cabin height.
I have never really heard anything negative about them and from what I have seen, they run about 80 with 500's.
You guys are probably right since the bussle makes 38' If you compare side by side a 38 NT and a 38 Gun or Café they are basically twins in regards to the styling and lines and the strakes are identical.
I always liked the looks of the 38 NT. Clean lines, aggressive stance, never heard anything bad about how they run.

So I'm assuming its the small "steps" and maybe lighter lay up that make them so much faster in comparison to a straight bottom gun? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought guns with 500's run around 65-70 correct? From what I can find his claims of 79 with out of the box props seem pretty accurate...Would those suttle changes to the bottom net 10 MPH??

500EFI café is around 73 MPH. Gun is a more efficient hull so 74/75. steps and lighter layup 79? I don't think he's exaggerating, no.

I gotcha...I would have to think with some prop work it could easily be a low 80's boat then??

Get ahold of Terry Sobo. He's very upfront and open about all things Nor-Tech including their history and previous boats.
