1075 42x

I've been drooling over the 42 in Michigan for a while and I think I just saw it going through indy. I looked for the ad and it's gone so does that mean it has a new home?

A bit of a shameful hijack and plug here but this is a 1075 boat I have for sale.....4 hours on refreshed engines....I had Precision use the best of the best internals with absolute reliability in mind.....new heads, new headers, dynoed at 1100 HP..... new M8 gimbal assemblies... 2 seasons on paint....ton of upgrades......very fast.....someone is going to get a hell of a boat at a hell of a price as the price is negotiable

It’s on its way to LOTO to its new owner !

flat rate 05-14-2019 09:45 PM

And it is definitely the nicest 42x for the money.

yep off to lotto to its new owner, great boat completely redone. Congrats to Joey G. on the sale. Now he needs to buy Skater apparel.

Probably won't do it but I've kicked around the idea of throwing a set of 1075's in my Comp. What is it about the stock Merc 1075's that give them such a frequent maintenance schedule? Do aftermarket builders like Precision give them different internals that can extend the time between servicing - or are they on the same service schedule as stock from the factory?

Bullhead 05-16-2019 04:22 PM

Mark at Precision is absolute wizard with 1075's.....he has developed several procedures in the rebuild process to improve reliability......one of the bigger pains with the 1075s is the 25 hour valve lash.......with the components that he uses he has inspected engines at 100 hours that needed no adjustment......he is now having Brodix do the machine work on the heads with great results.....I had considered going the 1100 route but after talking to him I was 100% at ease with sticking with the 1075's....part of the bad rap that 1075's get is that people cut corners on the rebuild process and than it bites them in the ass
