Getting married in St. pete

:) :) :) :) :)

Getting married in St. Pete in Feb.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the license?

We decided on St. Pete because I was born in Treasure Island - And want to move down there in a few years when each of our kids are a little older.

We met on our respective boats - so we decided to plan the whole thing around the water - wanna get married on the beach in front of Caddy's on Fri Feb 14 -
( valentines day is just a coincidence - honest!!!!) So that on Sat. we can drive a rental car down to Miami for the boat show!!!! - ( my kinda honeymoon!!!!!)

Anybody out there a Notary that can Marry us?
Anyone know a car rental place that will rent me a car that I can drop off in Miami to fly home from there?
Also looking for good Airfare from Toledo to St. Pete , and then Miami to Toledo.

Who else will be going to Miami? - I would love for you all to meet up with us and have a drink to celebrate - the boat show.

Oh ya, The marriage too!
She'd kill me if I didn't say that....

We are both excited and any help would be appreciated.

THE VINOY HOTEL IN ST. PETE IS GREAT!!!! WE STAYED THERE WHEN THEY HAD THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACES THERE. THEY EVEN HAD A WEDDING THERE. AN OLD HOTEL ON THE WATER THAT HAS BEEN REDONE, LOT'S OF HISTORY.

I got married in St Pete 16years ago, divorced 11 years ago.:( As I recall, just went to the court house by Mirror Lake and bought a license. As far as notaries, there are lot's of them that will do a marriage anywhere you want. Check the yellow pages for them.

Congratulations...You picked a great location!
I don't know anything about the licenses or anything like that, but the yellow pages online should point you in the right direction.

Best wishes!

Thanks everyone!!

I'm just getting started in the planning stages ( she told me if I want it to be in Treasure Island and then incorporate the Miami boat show that I have to do all the planning) - gonna be a simple deal - only a few people.

Anyone else gonna be going to Miami?

Congrats

License is $80-00 At the Court house located in Clearwater @ 310 Court Street. Nothing else needed just drivers lic. for ID . Should't take more than a half hour to get marriage lic. We live in Seminole about 5mi away from Treasure Is.
Once you have the lic. all you need to get it notorized & your are done...start serving that life sentence:)
Good luck
John

Keep in mind, you can fly from Tampa to Miami for approx. $75. Saves alot of time on the road.

bouyhunter 11-04-2002 05:35 PM

gator -
you own a plane or something???
do you know someone that runs that route, - or is it a commercial route?
I'm gonna need a car while there and I guess I'll have to do the math to figure out which is more resonable $$$$ wise.
We're running this on a tight budget - would rather spend money on boats than go crazy for a wedding.

Appreciate anything you know.

Thanks

Before getting married make sure she's willing to sell her boat to finance the motor upgrade in your boat, haa haa, just teasing, good luck, Mark

Commercial, my wife flies Southwest on business quite often.
