So what offshore builders have gone under/resurfaced in the last 10 yrs?

Donzi never stopped either. No one was screwed on a boat deal and all warranty claims were paid up until the sale to Iconic Marine Group. I know because I had one of those last warranty claims.

It would be great to see someone throw money into Scarab ^^^^, particularly the 38'. Hard to beat a Top Gun but IMO, the 38' Scarab is a better looking boat. I prefer the slightly rounded lines of the dash/helm and the cabin design too, even though it's 25-30 (?) years old.
Anyone want to build a new Scarab and show it off to the market?

It was more than that. At one time bayliner was 25 K boats per year. Sea Ray and Bayliner would bounce from 1 to 2 for a while. Baja if I recall at one time was in the top 10 boats for new sales. World wide
I do know this at one point in time many dealers in my area were the largest. Crownline dealer here would sell min 400 boats per year NEW. Mariah back in the day would do the same. Baja was close to 200 boats new from the local dealer.
Past and Currently for NON outboard apps --- Malibu in my area sells like clock work 100 to 150 boats per year regardless of weather or lake conditions. Mastercraft is like 60 to 75 new every year. Tige is at 35 to 50 new every year. Every single wake boat brand is sold in my area and all are doing well and half the lakes are closed currently because of flooding., I/O sales are basically at a all time low. Dealers really do not even stock I/Os - its very few per year.
The most new boats I ever sold was 50 back in mid 2000 s. After the bank and housing crash that number went to 15 for new boats sales.
Oh will mention this - at one 11 day boat show back in the 90 s the local mariah dealer sold 200 boats at that 11 day boat show. They use to have 35 to 45 employees working at that one boat dealership. Thats unheard of today.

Also PQ was doing just over 300 boats a year (boat a day basically) in the late-90s and early 2000's. People gave them a hard time about being a "regional" manufacturer but they were maxed for room/manpower. Going larger would have been a very sizable investment. Company was sold multiple times from 2002-2004 with the bank finally ending up with everything after last owner walked away. Sat dormant until 2011 when it went to auction. No deal was struck and everything went to multiple warehouses until purchased in very late 2016. 2017 was spent doing service work on PQs and ramping up for new builds, 2018 was year of signing a dealer & starting the first 380. 2019 will be focused on production & getting multiple boats out to dealers & buyers.
What an undertaking it has been but overall has been more than worth it. Support from the PQ community has been overwhelming, incredible really when you think about how many years have passed since a new PQ was made. Brand loyalty at its finest!!! Thank you everyone!

Yeah, I know, typo error.
Good to see you're on hull #2 and a 320 as well. I hope you get many forward orders and keep on making great boats.
