There are areas of no wake as mentioned above but the entire river is NOT a no wake zone. Mouth of the north channel, middle channel from north channel to Browns, St.Clair river in front of Algonac, Ect. are all no wake zones. 90% of the St.Clair river/south channel can be traveled at speed as long as you abide to the 200/600 rule.

The whole river is not a no wake zone. Residents are asking to reduce wake near stag, fawn and harsons islands due to damaging high water levels. Its a mess

Residents built their homes in low lying areas, marshlands, swamps, etc on an international shipping channel, where the weather will turn up larger wakes than most pleasure boats, where freighters push more water on shore than most pleasure boats.......yet want people to now, due to high water, not create wakes that could splash over their seawalls.
On one hand I want to be respectful and courteous. On the other hand, I want to ask these people what they expected to happen or why they didn't build a taller sea wall, or why they built their home on a flooded lot. |
