Default Ecm - 16236999 mefi-3*

Hi there fellow Offshorer's, I'm writing from Sydney Australia and wanted some help we have a 32 foot Mustang with twin Mercruisers and we have been trying to locate an ECM for one of the boats engines. We have attempted to have it repaired and it has not worked.

We cannot seem to find anyone in Australia that has one and since GM has stopped making the motor no one seems to have a part.

We have tried every where including eBay etc with no luck...Hope to hear from you soon and anything would be appreciated...

hard to find these and the used ones online for sale half of those have an internal issue as well. Options --- Stand alone ecm set up or go to carb / intake swap. Anything that is used and is 20 years old how much time is left in those ? Alot have been saltwater apps and those end up crusty inside after 20 years. I know I have opened up at least 200 MEFI 4 s and down.

the best way to fix this is a carb and intake its not hard to do runs equally well and can get you back on the water quickly

Lots of possibilities and opinions.
Pick a color sort of.
Many ways to skin that cat.
What year? Guessing 1998 up? Believe MEFI 3 was 98 up.
Salt?

manifold available with brass water passages if salt.
carb
dist

That's just the basics. A little jump start.
New stuff, save a buck find used.
New plug wires, regulator to get the fuel pressure down or maybe new fuel pump.
Someone competent enough to apply all that and the basics.
