Here is one of the major companies and there is many from China whom make knock off fuel injectors. I get hit up all the time by these companies as they are selling injectors as low as 4 bucks per injector to USA persons who want to sell them online and or even injector businesses. They are exact copies unlil you flow test them. And do I mean a exact copies that one can NOT tell exterior wise. Anyways this past weekend I did a compression test on a 496 - The owner said he bought brand new 496 injectors online because the price was only a tad more than having his original serviced. He bought 8 brand new injectors shipped for $325 WOW what a great price but not when those injectors blew up his engine. Wow what a great price that really was.

His comp testing numbers 1 = 135 - 3= 130 - 5= 116 - 7 = 85, I called it a day for the compression tests and moved on to the fuel injectors. All 8 of his online bought injectors flowed 20 to 40 percent less than the OEM for flow volumes and the spray patterns were not even close as well.

Yup, getting to be really annoying. Thanks for highlighting at least one of the dirt bag vendors. Too bad there's a ton more just like this one lurking out there.

On a related note, bearings are getting to be a crap shoot too. Lots of crap (generally Chinese) bearings out there for next to nothing. Worse yet - and just like the injectors - there are now a number of fake / counterfeit bearings that look exactly like the real thing out there too - right down to the markings. Lots of folks replacing wheel bearings are experiencing the joy of crap bearings these days.

The only advice I can off is that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I would pass on that injector period. It has poor weak connector points and is a 25 year old design. Completely unbalance right out of the box. . What I hear thru the grapevine is the maker now is having the cores and or injector made in the China market. I do know this for a fact --- the basket filters have changed to exactly what the china market uses. I have examined them extremely closely. . But I can not say for the injector itself is still made in Italy or China.. My GUESS is its some how related to China but still sold thru the maker in Italy. Its owned buy an Italian women in Italy.

Providing more hands on in depth info so boaters can be better informed and make better choices. They separate at the connector all on there OWN. Heat and harmonics - injector pulses and vibration. This one never was touched until I pulled it out to show the issue. Not uncommon to see this. Look at the connector separating. Very weak point.

And this is THE NUMBER ONE MARINE INJECTOR that is knocked off by many in the China market for the past 9 years. 4 bucks per injector or 30 bucks for 8. How good can they be ?? I do not buy any of that but buy straight thru the some of the injector manu s. .
