LEOPA Thunderfest video 2019

Video from the Poker Run Sat;

I didn't make it very far, blew a trans in the first mile or so so no cool video or pics for me...

I didnt get to talk to you, you rafted off Bobby who was rafted off us at PIB. We had the port drive rip off and take out everything, almost sunk the boat. Made it to Mazurik launch and on the trailer with bilge pumps running.

Geez, lots of bad luck out there Sat. Big Skater came in with a blown trans too, I think TomCat had issues as well. I was talking to the guys who were on a Powerplay, they lost a belt or something.

We came in late to PIB sat morning,

At the run, we only made it just north of middle bass heading to Middle Sister isl. Just when things were getting good, we were coming around the outside of the pack and port RPMs shot up, I knew it immediately. Got a whole 5 minutes in! Took us about 2.5 hours to idle back to Sandusky on one engine.

I did make it back to PIB on another boat but we stayed at the Keys.

IF you know of anyone with a built 72C for sale, let me know please. trying to swap it out instead of waiting on a rebuild.

I didn't have any issues and water was flat and fast, averaged a 100 to the first card stop running next to Gone again. Tomcat had an electrical issue, and the PP smoked a coupler. I was lucky enough to catch a ride in Gone Again later that day, effortless 146mph, said it would do 155 with the "small" props that were on it. Fun day for sure.

I hope they release and extended video, we had a ton of chopper time and only a couple blips in the vid.

JRider, which boat is yours? Can you post a pic?

Barber414 08-07-2019 07:57 PM

Frickstyle, were you on a silver and white Cig? I think I sat with you at dinner. I was on the white and orange Sunsation. I blew a belt just outside Marblehead and 5 min later Nick blew a coupler on his Powerplay.

Yeah, that's me. Was nice to hang with you guys at dinner. I remember you telling me about the details, but couldn't keep it straight, long day for me...

Just want to say! Nice meeting you folks! Was a great run! We were in the yellow 38 Sonic with the arch.

This run would be better by more media exposure. It would be cool to see a lot of boats at PIB and it's a great place to meet new people and check out boats. I am sure people would travel for this event as some had, and I don't think it would be hard to get 80-100 boats in the run. I think they did a great job hosting and organizing, unfortunately I really didn't get to do much but the drivers meeting, the milling by the monument, and about a 5min run until I blew a trans. It was great to see an event in a place where we boat every weekend, kind of a nice hometown thing.

I had fun and will be back next year. Thanks again to the organizers.

Here's us on our "3 hour tour" back to the ramp. Had to pose for a photo op.

Shhhhh, don’t let the secret out how awesome that area is... ;)

I feel like they dropped the ball with the media exposure. I saw a few different things where people were asking about it and trying to find info but couldn't. This run could be huge and have some great boats. It's in one of the best areas to boat! They do a great job of hosting the event I just wish they advertised more. I will be back next year for sure.
