No wake jake... seems to be a hero...google it
This guy is sinking wake boats for a hobbie….lol. I hate wake boats, even more so for the a** holes that use them for their unintended purposes... that being a smooth ride while EVERYONE else suffers including owners of waterfront property! This guy is awesome!

Seems like a great way to get shot. I own a wake surf boat and my kids love it, the problem I find on our lake is people don’t empty the ballast tanks when they are done surfing, and yes that’s very annoying. If you empty all the added weight before cruising home, these boats don’t make much bigger of a wake than a standard boat. |

Someone who vandalizes boats is a hero? On a boating forum? :bong:

It just comes down to awareness and consideration, both of which are displayed Bett little these days. |
looks like a crazy liberal environmentalist... he isnt the only one that has tools with a silencer.. just saying ;)... if you dont like the laws, change the laws. dont willfully damage others property

Love to wakesurf
I love wake surfing and everything about it. I don't care how big a wave I make and who it affects. I don't care if you're a bass fisherman or somebody out trolling. If I make a wave that bothers you, then fish from the dock. You're boat will handle the wave, and it doesn't scare away the fish. Complaints about eroding the shoreline are nonsense. Mother Nature does the damage with wind, rain, and run-off from poorly designed housing developments, natural erosion, and poor rip-rap. I have a waterfront home on a Virginia lake, and I have yet to see any damage done to my property from wakeboard boats. I too am a fisherman, and I don't mind when a bunch of people are having fun out on the lake. They're enjoying their-selves and getting exercise. If wakeboard and surf boats are bothering you, then you should find another hobby. These people are generating revenue, increasing the population around your lake, and making your property values go up. If you impose rules on your lake that discourage any part of boating and water-sports you will see your property values decrease, so get over your complaining and move on. As for "No Wake Jake", he'll get his. Hopefully by vigilante justice, and not local law enforcement.

You are legally responsible for any damage your wake creates. It's been that way long before wake boats were ever created.

So....When you grow out of running PWC's into boat traffic you buy a wakeboat.....

When I started water sports the less wake the better, now its the more wake the better. I can deal with that, just kids having fun. I try to find a small narrow cove to go and hang out with friends, the wakes hope they stay out in the main body, most do.
The boats today take a smaller boat and add weight to make more wake, I thought about wonder how it would be to take a 40 foot cruiser and have it plow water, that might be some fun for more then one at a time surfers. On another note: was taking a trip (23 foot runabout) from Louisville to Picwick and on a narrow area and came upon a 50 something Jefferson and started plowing water. Putting out a huge wake, so we slowed down, and rode gently over the wake. Looked back and noticed the boat slowed down to very little wake. Called on the radio "thanks for the after thought" the relay was "I thought it was a fore thought". Find Male members everywhere |
This guy is not awesome.....he is a pos. And no i do not have or want a wake boat.

I’ve enjoyed wake surfing a few times. I’ve also been annoyed by plowing speed boaters at the lake. I’d say I dislike like the wake more than surfing is important to me. Lots of very secluded places to boat in the Midwest if you put in minor effort. Illinois River, Mississippi River, Kentucky lake, table rock lake, Mark Twain lake etc etc. Seems silly to do it in densely developed areas. |

I have to admit if I wasn't so old and still doing watersports like I was 20 years ago I would definitely want to try out wake surfing. However, I would never be doing it on a congested body of water during busy times for recreational boaters. In my heyday of slalom skiing, wake boarding, and air chair my buddy and I would always go out to our local lake during a weekday late afternoon/evening and run along a shoreline we could find that had no other boat traffic around. It was both for us to have good water and to not have to worry about bugging other people out on the water. Little common sense and courtesy goes a long way for all types of boaters to coexist.
As for what the guy is doing, if true, is not hero-worthy behavior. He's a criminal plain and simple. |

This has to be a hoax. Cannot believe someone is dressing like that and doing this. With that said, vigilante justice is stupid; just ask OJ. |

FYI....wakesurfing is perfect for us old guys. You're only going 8 mph so when you hit the water, it doesn't hurt! I love wakeboarding but haven't even done it this summer but surf quite a bit.

For anyone who didn't look it up, this guy is boring holes in boat hulls with a cordless drill and hole saw. Can anyone honestly justify that? I always thought that it is extremely chicken sh*t to vandalize property to get "even" with someone.

We Performance Boaters get quite a bad rap also, so I would shut the hell up. You are throwing stones from a glass house.... p.s I have lived on Lakefront property most of my life and our boats, dock and retaining wall have never been damaged by a Wake Boat. Most owners I see understand they throw a huge wake and slow down or stay far away from my dock. And if they don't , big deal that's why I have mooring whips. |

So a Guy with a Wakeboat out with his friends/family, usually with kids , enjoying the water , exercising, learning new things, and having fun is a A**hole because his wake is big . But the p*ssy hiding behind the computer screen "lol"n about some sicko destroying people's boats isn't? You whine about how you "hate wake boats". You claim he is "awesome"......Are you mental? Hopefully that piece of sh*t ends up behind bars for what he is doing. He is a coward, just like you.

Guys I’m pretty sure this was all a joke. I live about an hour from smith lake and there’s been nothing on the news that I’ve seen or the local paper. Here’s the story from “The Walker County Buzzard” on Facebook. It’s gotta be a joke. 😄..... MASKED VIGILANTE WHO HAS BEEN SINKING SMITH LAKE WAKEBOATS UNDER THE COVER OF DARKNESS CAUGHT ON CAMERA ARLEY - The masked vigilante who Smith Lake residents have come to call "No Wake Jake" was caught on camera Monday night in the Brushy Creek area. While some Smith Lake residents live in fear of discovering their $100,000+ boats at the bottom of the lake, others are hailing him as folk hero who is protecting the peace, safety, and property values of Smith Lake residents through his clandestine sinking of multiple wakeboats. Authorities are saying that "No Wake Jake" has employeed a complicated system involving a silencer equipped hole saw to carry out his stealthy sinkings. "This guy is basically like Batman, if Batman sunk expensive boats instead of fighting crime. I don't know where this guy got his training, and I don't know his motivations? But he's basically a bad-ass boat sinking ninja with a mad-on for wakeboats." Authorities went on to add that "No Wake Jake" is committing serious crimes despite the multiple banners hung on docks with messages like "Go No Wake Jake Go!", and "Sink One For Me Jake!". |

Ive never been bothered by wake boats. However, I was fishing with my daughter in a 14 ft v bottom and one went by us real close and sent a wave over the transom and filled the boat with water...it was full and sketchy and I thought that guy was a dick. I didn’t blame the boat just the ass driving it. I had a line hung up on bottom and otherwise could have repositioned the boat to take the wake. I didn’t and we about sank.
There’s a lot of boats putting a bigger wake out than that, including mine. Just gotta be courteous on the water. |
Song about No Wake Jake
He's turning into a folk hero. Go to YouTube and Spotify, and search for "No Wake Jake". A rock band has released a song about him.
