Condor Center Console - Any info or history?
I seem to remember Condor made performance boats as well as center consoles. A buddy of mine is looking at a Condor CC that looks to be in the 30 - 32 foot range. I heard they were built in south Florida and started as a splash of another hull. Any info on quality, years they were built, how they handle?

The Anzardo family has built boats officially since the early '80s 'till about 2007. They used a few different brand names over the decades, but the Condor brand got well-known if you wanted a very high-quality performance boat with extra-large fuel tanks. The Anzardo family are very very good people though and like Don Aronow built what the clients needed and maybe at times avoided asking certain questions. I've seen 24', 30', 32', 33', 38' and even 42' Condor models, many of them center console with a cuddy. Several set-ups with twin diesel or outboard power. Most of the 'Scorpion derived' boats, (32, 38 and 42), have come on the market pre-owned after confiscation by law-enforcement agencies. Very impressive boats Condor by Anza Marine Group, and actually many commissioned by law enforcement and the government too. I personally missed out on a 2003 Condor 32 Renegade cuddy with twin Volvo KAD43P's 230 hp diesel engines and four 150-gallon fuel tanks at a 2006 Port Everglades, FL auction. The 32' Renegade, and 38 and are the legendary Scorpion hulls, (ex. 32 Viper, ex. originally Sutphen), and most got Scorpion decks, whereas the 30', 32' and 33' center console boats supposedly have Magnum/Cigarette lineage, (most likely what Your pal is looking at). 'Brownie' is in the know about The Anzardo Familia. A year later a 2003 Condor 32 CC with twin outboards and a 2003 Condor 38 came up for sale too. A United States Navy ordered 2001 Condor 42 sold in 2008 and she had newly installed, 75 hours, 420 hp 3126 Cats, ZF trannies, Mercury 6 drives, and four 350 gallon alu fuel tanks, for a total of 1,400 gallons. An incredible opportunity at $150k! Best of luck to Your buddie. If she's stayed out of the hurricanes and had caring ownership, she should be a delight to run for decades to come. Many of the leisure 30', 32' and 33' center console boats for outboards are not as heavy layed up as most of the hulls of the Scorpion design. Keep in mind that these have all been custom ordered boats and though of quality, they are not all tanks. There are several of these CC's for sale now. Hopefully, previous and current owners with knowledge will chime in. I'm only familiar with running the 'Scorpian derived' hull designed boats, and they're amazing. Cheers, Lars. I know this is a really old thread now, but one of the few I’ve found online. Full disclosure, I’ve never been fond of the performance type boats, always favored a Grady or Mako style cc, moderate deadrise. All we ever did was bottom fish in the gulf. Having said that, 3 years in a row we have chartered the same captain in the Bahamas, and he has an old 28-30’ Condor, completely redone, twin 300 Merc Sea Pros, and I absolutely love it. 3 piece build and very impressive ride. A little wet at times but what CC isn’t. This boat may convert me to this design / style. Wish there was more info out there online, or more of these hulls around.
have a pic to post, but not the post count |
