It's so funny - I had a coil wire short out the other day and had to go to the ramp on one motor, and felt nervous on only one engine. Had to keep telling myself that most people always boat on one motor

I have both. Fuel and battery issues can still strand twin engine boats.

I came out of twin-engined jets. Flying on a single engine was an emergency but not as bad as flying on no engine :-)

I have triple outboards but still wouldn’t think of boating in the Gulf without Seatow. One tow pays your membership for 10 years lol.

WTF you don't do regular maintenance?

I have twins and had to use it this year. . I got water in my fuel. Neither engine would run. Last time I got towed in was 25 years ago. $50/ year beats $1200 for a tow

Keep your SeaTow or BoatUS or whatever is best in your area.

BoatUS pissed me off when I needed LAND towing help, as my truck broke down. They found some technicality to get out of helping me just like AAA RV+ did.

BUT, BoatUS and SeaTow have high volume trash pumps and salvage capabilities that you hope you never need; but twins won’t help you with.

Years back, I had a drive fall off of my 37AT due to a broken helmet. I was very lucky as I was within site of the ramp where my trailer was, and I did not take on water (bellows stayed intact). But that could have been a completely different story. Only the hydraulic steering rams kept me from losing the drive completely.

Maintenance is a little too regular for my liking. I need to keep a 25 horse kicker in the cabin like you do Gary.

Last trip out my batteries failed and I needed boat US to come out twice over the weekend to give me a jump start. All covered covered under my Boat US membership. Definitely worth the annual cost.

Lost a drive about 7 years ago up near Stuart. Sea Tow Showed up and pulled us with a 50 foot line outside from Stuart to Boynton Beach inlet. Told us to get on the throttle on the remaining engine and towed us home about 25 MPH on plane. That would have been over 5+ hours at 6MPH on one engine. Never knew it was even possible, "You want me to do what?", we gave it a try and my boat jumped right on plane.

I will never boat without Sea Tow ever again.
