Yep. I towed a 28 Sunsation from NY to Philly. Got home and I burned out the Pinion bearing so bad :mad: I just replaced all the bearings and it's stil good after 20K miles added on I'm at 90K now

Just got my Explorer back today. They have replaced the seals at the differential twice now in the last 5,000. I don't tow anything with it.

CAP, I like having a daily driver that gets 10mpg around town!! And your just jealous that I have a boat to trailer and don't trailer it!!! And you don't have a boat to trailer (unless you run out to the left coast). I love the stress free Hi & Dri life!!!;)

Dana 44's are the standard of the world for differentials... they used them in Jags and called them "Salsbury" diffs... they used them in Aston Martin DB4's 5's and 6's.. they were used in all the front engined Lambos too...good design.

I've got an 01' Dodge 2500 Quad Cab/8 ft. bed, 4x4, V-10, 4:10 gears, HD everything, rated to tow 12,700. Gas mileage is only about 1/1.5 mpg difference than my 99 Dodge 1500 360 4x4, 3.55 gears.

My only complaint is the tranny. Did the "infamous" won't shift down into low gear after coming to a stop issue at 53,000 miles.

Over 63,000 on the original Michelins and still got some left.

Tows my 89' 311 Formula and doesn't know it's back there.

The windshield corner "pillars" are too damn wide. It's amazing what you don't see behind them. I do a lot of head bobbing after almost pulling out in front of bikes, running over pedestrians, little things like that. Hell a bus can hide behind that thing. Guess the new ones are smaller.

Except for the tranny issue it's been a good truck. Oh yeah, it does not rattle at all.

They all have their problems but the 1/2 trucks are just glorified cars. If you really need a truck, you need a 3/4 ton or better. Speaking from expensive experience.
