No offense!
When the post includes “No offense to the brand” you know it’s a problem! What a sharp observation to notice those puny 6 drives and call them Bravo’s 🤪 |

Yep, last I heard it's still in Japan. That boat was a lot of fun. Remember the first time we ran it in Havasu. Had to be the biggest boat havasu ever saw at the time. Looking back it's funny because it's a average size boat there now lol.
I remember we took it out (I think when the pic from the Helicopter here was taken) and Kenny is just cruising at like 65-70 up the lake going towards Havasu springs. There was like 6 or 7 on board. We get near copper canyon and this dude in a 28 / 30 ish Vee bottom with a big blower scoop on it comes rolling up next to us and then hits it running past us at like 80ish, they wave at us with big smiles, we wave back. Kenny just looked over and smiled slightly. He starts pushing the throttles forward slowly at first and as we're like 400' to the rear of the other boat he lays it down. Those big blowers start SCREAMIN' and we blast past the other boat bumpin 100. We all wave, they didn't wave back. LOL. Freakin classic. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...78157030fc.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ed5e63570b.jpg |

They started out as Merc 900SC and were later rebuilt by Pfaff. Made about 1000hp each. The best that boat ran was 103 on gps light load perfect conditions. Illusion was a wave crushing beast... miss her - kb |
Go to the 1:10 mark and turn your volume up, sounds sweet. :) |

Illusion was a wave crushing beast... miss her - kb I have the same boat with same power and I can’t quite make it to 100. I have never ran it with less than half tanks on fuel but I can’t see picking up 5-6 mph by losing and few pounds in fuel. I’m also fresh water. I am currently running 16x32 five blades. |
Kelly, I know my boat (Top gun, not a Tiger) is significantly faster on light fuel. I think it's more of a COG thing than a weight issue. It also planes a lot quicker on light fuel.

Ok, that makes sense because the way it pulls on the trailer with tanks full vs tanks half full is daylight/dark. With tanks half full at speeds over 70 (on the trailer) the tail wants to wag the dog because of insufficient tongue weight. Fill the tanks up and it's a completely different animal.
I don't know why I never thought to apply the same principle to the boat running in the water. Thanks for pointing that out Justin. You may have just found my missing mph. |

I’m with frickstyle, definitely a COG thing. A smaller one will push it over 100... :D https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...bcc32b9f3.jpeg |
