So whats the scoop on Bimini?

I've never been but booked a room for xmas, since i know quite a few of you have gone is it worth while or this going to be a let down?

Now you ask? AFTER you're booked up?

I don’t see how being in a tropical location in December would ever be a let down. Enjoy !

Too many kids wondering the docks begging for money.

Resorts overstaffed yet manage to have slow service. Very pretty place though.

We did this over Christmas 2 years ago. Christmas day was a bit of let down as everything was closed except for the stuff at resort world (where we stayed), however there was a cool street party at night and a parade... The rest of the time was fun, rent a golf cart, and cruise around... There is a guy down near big game (forget his name and hotel) that will rent you his skiff for the day. ask around someone will know what I'm talking about. We lucked out and it was flat so we went to the sappono. It was our first time on Bimini so everything was new to us, we had a good time.

Call Bimini Sands and ask for the dockmaster (name started with a D). His cousin Tony will rent you a 21 paramount with a 200 yamaha. Easily the best boat on the island offered as a rental.

Sapona is cool, there is a flipped DC9 plane just off South Bimini (flipped upside down in shallow water, wheels stick out of the water). If the water cooperates then make a run to Cat Cay (10 miles from Bimini, the Sapona is about 1/2 way). It is an exclusive island, they will let you hang out for the day in the marina, the bar and the grocery store area. Just west of there is Gun Cay/Honeymoon harbor where you can feed the stingrays in shallow water (cut up shrimp/bait and keep it in a solo cup, they will eat it out of your hand!).

This in itself sounds like anything but a let down.
Maybe we should make this a group event for Christmas 2020?
Enjoy Dan!
